Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) hoses are between rubber and plastic and have many excellent properties:
1. Excellent wear resistance: Its Taber abrasion value is 0.35-0.5mg, which is the smallest in plastics. The addition of a lubricant reduces friction and further improves the degree of wear resistance;
2. Tensile strength and elongation: TPU tensile strength is 2-3 times that of natural rubber and synthetic rubber, polyester TPU tensile strength > 60Mpa, elongation 410%, tensile strength of polyurethane TPU 50Mpa, elongation 550%;
3. Oil resistance: TPU has excellent oil resistance and is excellent in nitrile rubber and has excellent oil resistance;
4. Low temperature resistance, weather resistance and ozone resistance. The weathering resistance of TPU is better than that of natural rubber and other synthetic rubbers. Its ozone and radiation resistance have special applications in the aerospace industry.
5. Food Health: TPU is biocompatible and anti-hecocoagulable, and medical TPU is becoming more and more widely used. Such as blood vessels, ureters, infusion tubes. TPU is free of enhancers, non-toxic and tasteless, and is widely used in the food industry;
6. Hardness range: TPU has a hardness of 10A-80D, and has similar compression deformation characteristics below 15A. It maintains elasticity even when the hardness is above 85A, which is a characteristic that other elastomers do not have, so the TPU has high load supporting ability and good suction and discharge effect;
7. TPU hoses are generally classified into polyester TPU, polyether TPU and poly, polycaprolactone type.
Polyester TPU hose performance characteristics:
Polyester TPU hose: high mechanical temperature, good wear resistance, oil resistance, fuel and solvent resistance, high temperature performance and excellent UV resistance and hydrolytic stability. For applications with the above requirements, it is recommended to use polyester TPU series hoses;
Polyether TPU hose performance characteristics:
For applications with low temperature flexibility, good weatherability, hydrolysis resistance and antibacterial growth requirements, polyether TPU series hoses are recommended;
Polycaprolactone type TPU hose performance characteristics:
Polycaprolactone type TPU hose: It has the mechanical strength and high temperature performance of polyester TPU, and has the hydrolysis resistance and low temperature resistance of polyether TPU. It has good resilience and is suitable for special industry applications.
